Numerical simulation for optimum face velocity range of recirculation filtration fume hood

Investigates the influence of face velocity, design of the operation panel, height and position of anthropomorphic dummy on the performance of the hood through numerical simulation. The results show that for the face velocity from 0.4 m/s to 0.7 m/s, using sliding sash, and the dummy standing in the middle of the hood for operation, the air distribution inside and outside of the hood and contaminant control effect will be better. Analyses the effect of the face velocity on adsorption velocity of the filter with tested data.
